Mourning Dove

We have two varieties of doves; Mourning Doves like this one and the smaller Common Ground Doves. I think that they're beautiful birds. But contrary to their 'peaceful' reputations, I've observed them to be very pushy and moderately aggressive toward other birds, especially around the feeders. Their name comes from their sad call. They are favorite targets for our local hawks and owls.
