Eel Day without the Eel

We went into town this morning as we had a few things to get. We had forgotten that it was Eel Day, where the eels that gave Ely its name are celebrated. This involves a procession through the city and various activities held on the green. Unfortunately we missed Ellie the Eel - a giant version of the snake-like fish who was at the front of the procession, so here instead are some of the followers!
