Scribe

I was asked to be the ‘rapporteur’ for an afternoon session on how to finance conservation areas sustainably. This is an endless head-scratcher of a topic in our sector as everyone immediately defaults to tourism as a solution, which it clearly cannot be everywhere. Constant creativity is needed to harness new opportunities to bring in revenues both for people living in remote places of high biodiversity, and governments needing cash to manage sites.

Rapporteur basically means scribe or note taker, so I dutifully carried out my role and the table I produced by the end I hope was vaguely useful to the session organiser.
