The Circle of Trust

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

BITCHY ALERT

I feel bad. What I'm about to report is fairly mean. But funny. I mean. I bear the target of today's post no ill will. But funny. But mean. Also funny.

So remember how I DIDN'T get the Lead BA job? Today Briar and I had a meeting with the person who DID.

A nice enough person. Don't get me wrong. No ill will. Remember? Are we remembering that?

She wanted to know about the politically-charged and sensitive project Briar and I worked on. How did we navigate it, she wanted to know.

And honestly I did give helpful advice. Really I did.

But I also may have mentioned the "Circle of Trust" which is s joke thing I set up based on the films "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers".

It served a serious purpose. Don't misunderstand me. But also, kind of a joke.

Lead BA didn't get it. "Tell me more about the Circle of Trust," she said. Taking copious notes.

Briar snorted.

Don't blow it, Briar.

So I had to fully commit to the Circle of Trust technique and explained it in more depth than it ever deserved. To be honest it is mainly full of memes, gifs and pictures of cats.

"Really??" said Lead BA, "Interesting."

"The Circle of Trust is going to be a thing now," Briar said later. "And it is all your fault."

It so is NOT. If only they had hired me instead this never would have happened.
