Where monumental brasses used to sit

This is in the church at Blythborough  near Southwold, Suffolk. Remarkably there are around a dozen places on the floor where brasses commemorating village folk who died in the distant part. They were ripped up at some point and melted down.

(As a youngster I would visit churches in Kent with my mother and we would make copies of brasses by covering the brass with paper and rubbing over the image with 'cobblers blacking'
