Backtracking
When I moved back to Japan I made sure to get a bike. While it's awfully convenient for travelling and saving money on trains, it's highly detrimental to me taking pictures. Just like when I was in America and driving everywhere, on a bike you go past potential shots too quickly to notice. Or if I do see something good, it's weird to stop the bike, back up, take out the camera and shoot. So when I'm biking around a lot, I'm saving money and being healthy, but I'm not taking as many photos as when I'm just walking around and able to stop anytime I see something.
Today, however, I wasn't going to let that happen. On my way back from church, I sped by this temple gate and saw lots of green inside of it. Stopped the bike, backtracked, and went in. I didn't get many shot opportunities like I was hoping for, but the temple had a lovely garden and it was a nice, relaxing surprise. I would stop a few times on the way back after this, and am glad to have found some new areas in the process.
