Breda - Valkenburg Park

Right next to the Royal Military Academy and part of the old (read: ancient) city centre. The Academy used to be the royal castle and the park was part of the private property of the royal family, back in the good 'ole' days when the seat of the House of Orange, then known only as the House of Nassau, was Breda. When we were living in Breda some 24 years ago, the park was not like this. Then sometime in the late 1990s the city council decided that it was time to clean it up, together with the entire inner city, 'inner' meaning 'inside the city walls', only a tiny portion of which is visible today. So ... voila! Valkenburg Park!
