Power To The People

Today we were visited by two very nice men from Western Power (National Grid)

We needed an upgrade on the overhead power cables that come into the house from a nearby pole. (A big stick, not a
gentleman from Gdansk)

They were polite, friendly knowledgeable, skilled and extremely chatty

We now have upgraded modern power lines coming into the house with not one but two active 'earths' (double indemnity)

And all for free! Yippee!

In other news we had to attend to my wife's elderly parents today. Nanny J has vascular dementia and is almost completely deaf. One needs oceans of patience and the ability to shout for long periods of time... I lost it today when she continued talking whilst eating her hot meal. The crux for me was when she had a mouthful of mashed potato and her false teeth popped out.

I don't think I will ever be hungry again...
