Seaside Dream versus City Dream

Today I had my last play on the beach. Booooohooooo................

We've been in St Ives for 5 weeks and we've had a lovely time. Practically every day I go down to 'Porthmeor Beach' for a play first thing in the morning. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the beach. And this beach is only a 5 min walk down the hill from our house. ….............It's a bit of a steep walk on the way home though?!!

The other good thing about being in St Ives is............... we have a big field right next door to where we live, so if Ann wants to take me for a toilet break or tire me out quickly, she just takes me into the field to play with my ball.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE playing with my ball.

Oh, and we also have a lovely big sun terrace here, so if I want to do a bit of outside chillaxing, I've got lots of room to choose whether I want to be in the sunshine or in a shady spot. In Edinburgh we only have a very small balcony, which is pretty much overcrowded if both of us are on it at the same time. Lol.

However, ...................... in Edinburgh there is a much greater variety of walks for me. In Edinburgh we can walk for miles and miles and miles and then when we get tired, we can just jump on a bus and come home. In Cornwall, there's some lovely walks but logistically, planning them is a lot more difficult because the public transport system here is rubbish.

Our house here is called 'Seaside Dream' and our house in Edinburgh is called, 'City Dream'. Seaside versus the city. Which would you choose?.................

My humans' roots are in Edinburgh well actually they're not, because she was born a Geordie, but that's a whole other story as she lived in Edinburgh for more than 25 years and she lived in Cornwall for more than 20 years. She has a really lovely life and friends in both places. How many people are that lucky?

Most of Ann's friends tell her to just carry on doing what we're doing because we have the best of both worlds. …......And we do............ We LOVE our life. And obviously because I am a gorgeous little collie pup, I'm more than happy to just fit into whatever lifestyle she wants to provide for me. I really am the most adaptable little collie pup ever.

However, my human isn't getting any younger. She's 63 years old!!! And there is going to come a point in her life when she isn't going to be able to drive the 600+ miles from Edinburgh to St Ives and when she isn't going to be able to walk up all the steep hills in St Ives. We have friends who are a lot younger than Ann who come to stay but won't go for a walk because they don't want to walk up the hill on the way home???!!!

Sooooooooooooooo......................................
Ann's latest thoughts are.................. we'll come back here next year for 6 months.................. April to September because she is a bit of a sun worshipper. BUT there is no way we'll be able to rent out our Edinburgh home and make the same amount of income as we do from our St Ives home. …......And obviously we need money to keep me in the style to which I have become accustomed too. Lol!! I guess Ann could always sell her body, but that wouldn't bring in much. Lol. OK, we're getting a bit silly now?!!

Suffice to say, we've had a lovely 5 weeks in St Ives and my human is actually really looking forward to getting back to work at the 'wonderful world of Wilkies' in Edinburgh.

See you all soon Edinburgh friends. xxxxx

PS - Watch this space to see what we decide to do next year.
