10k start.

Village 10k race this morning - this has grown into a large event with a good community feel, in the 3 years it has been going (over 400 entered for the race today).
Mrs D. and I did the 2.3k fun run to show willing. I beat her :-)
However I do have to admit to coming second best to a girl who is in my class at school (10yr old). Embarrassment looms on return to work - I've alredy started working on the excuses (misdirected by marshal, twisted ankle on uneven ground, war wound playing up.... the usual stuff).
Beautiful day for it - if a little too hot for the pro's...
