Recovering

Another day in a row, there were many waxwings eating the apple harvest leftovers as we opened the door. The chirping was lovely.

I wondered today why it feels so rewarding to sort out socks that have gone pairless.

I also wondered why somebody happens to call a video call just when you've been ill and not showered for three days.

I was left wondering, too, the concept of personality that Laurent Gounelle's novel offered. It suggested that personality is actually an unconsciously chosen defence, a kind of code breaker necessary to survive in the world - glasses that colour your perception of the world.

And finally a thought of another book I read today:

Life isn't how you pictured it every morning, it's something you couldn't - a single morning - wish for.
- Sanna Wickström
