New Town basement

I went for a short walk in the New Town at lunchtime while doing another workshop at the Arienas Collective. Today it was cold process soap-making, using oils and sodium hydroxide which when mixed together undergo saponification to create soap. It was quite involved and necessitated wearing goggles and elbow-length rubber gloves for part of the process. But it was a lot of fun with a nice group of people. The soap we made will be given to the next group as it needs three weeks to cure, but the tutor had made soap for us to take away. I don't know if I will have a go at home or not. There would be quite a lot of equipment to buy and it might not go down too well with Lexi and Alfie who would probably have to be banished for the duration. I will see in due course.
