Foxgloves
A year or so ago I blipped Eda going to a ‘Forest School’ in the Community Garden in Alice Park in Larkhall when Jude was still a baby. Today we took Jude to the same thing but this time in a lovely little garden by the River Avon in Batheaston which is just down the road in the opposite direction to Bath city centre.
After some heavy rain yesterday evening it was a glorious morning for an outdoor hour or so of fun. As usual I was too warm even in just a cotton shirt and jumper, always happens when I come down here.
They started with songs and then had a hunt to find ‘mushrooms’. In the Community Garden there were activities. A mud kitchen, a fairy house, books, colouring, magnifying glasses for bug hunting and things to make. Today they were decorating a paper bat with autumn leaves and attaching it to wool so they could fly it around. I noticed they have acquired a new leaf mobile in the front porch from a previous session.
Jude had a lovely time. You can see her with the bat she made and the fairy house.
At the end they had a snack and a story called ‘A dark, dark place’. Followed by more songs. Grace’s friend Elisa came from Bristol with Heidi, it was nice to see them and we stayed in the park a little while at the end for a mini picnic.
Unfortunately there is only going to be one more which will be Halloween themed.
Jude is having a nap and Grace has gone to pick Eda up from school before she heads out for the technical rehearsal at Bath Theatre Royal tonight.
I’m just grabbing a few moments peace to do my blip.
