Potjes
Backblip as there’s been no internet at the lodge for almost 2 days, and 4 power outages during dinner last night. No problem though, getting your food by phone torch and eating by candlelight was really nice.
Today the alarm went off at 4:15am to go for a morning bush walk. Great info on the environment and the healthy ecosystem in Kruger. Then a nighttime safari where we saw various animals by searchlight including a leopard on the roadside, just strolling along. No decent photos from either event.
However, at dinner this beautiful lady served soup from a huge pot with ‘Falkirk’ on the front. As a Falkirk Bairn I asked about it but she didn’t know. Later I checked on the internet - there is no direct connection with my old hometown … the potjes are made by the Falkirk factory in Durban, SA. Perhaps it was named after the town in the past?
