Anniversary

Today we’re celebrating 9 years of wedded bliss :) We were engaged for 29 years and always said we didn’t need a piece of paper to validate our relationship or the love we shared but when Maine legalized same sex marriage it got our attention. We observed the process for a while, over a year, before taking the plunge ourselves. It was a bright summer-like day on the edge of the ocean at Short Sands Beach. We were married by a notary with three of our closest friends by our sides. A visit to Nubble Light for pictures then off to York Harbor Inn to celebrate! A glorious and memorable day, one we never thought possible, and will never forget. If the Supreme Court decides to reverse the decision as they did with Roe v. Wade, we will never consider ourselves unmarried again. Our marriage license will always be true and valid in our hearts • We enjoyed a great day in Freeport, and will soon celebrate with cake and Prosecco :) • Cheers to all of you!
