Seafront development

We spent a rather unsatisfactory afternoon going to Folkestone, where both P and I hoped to organise things in person in banks. We both failed to achieve what we set out to do, and returned home to try again to communicate with the online robots. It felt like wasted time, but did give me the opportunity to glimpse the huge changes to the seafront, where tall new developments are transforming the view. I had not been since all this began (and there is more than can be seen here), so although I knew it was happening, it was still a surprise. It's controversial locally - many people are asking who will buy these expensive new flats, how much of the time they will be occupied, and how this will help the many people struggling to find affordable homes to rent. This stretch of seafront has been rather run down for as long as I've lived here, but long ago there was a funfair and an outdoor pool. The new developments will include cafés, restaurants and bars which will bring more people into this part of the town and create a night-time ambiance many will enjoy.
