Tiny orchid
Pink rock orchid, Dendrobium kingianum, grows naturally in this area. This particular plant has travelled widely. It started life in the garden of my father-in-law, in Sydney. He died 40 years ago, and Rana and I moved the plant to our garden in Canberra. It lived there for nearly 40 years, and then came with us to Lennox Head 3 years ago. Here it happily lives outdoors, under shade cloth to protect it from direct sun. The flowers are small, about 15 mm across.
