Tryfan
We went up the western Carneddau today from Bethesdato go up the 3 remaining Furths in Wales. A Furth is a hill over 3000 outwith Scotland and there are 6 in England, 15 in Wales and 13 in Ireland. Our hills left were Carnedd Dafydd, Pen yr Ole Wen and Yr Elen and we also went over Carnedd Llewelyn on our way to Yr Elen. It was warm both on the way up and down but on the tops it was really windy and I actually put my Ron Hill’s over my shorts (still it is October). It was bright and the Carneddau were cloudy free nearly all the time but up wind to the west the cloud was shrouding the hills. The blip is taken from the top of Pen yr Ole Wen looking to Tryfan (clear) with the Glyders in the cloud behind; the head of Llyn Idwal is just visible below the Devil’s Kitchen. The first extra is another view of Tryfan but this one from just below the summit of Yr Elen, our last hill. The second extra is evening light on the Glyders looking up the Nant Ffrancon. We just have Lugnaquilla, in the Wicklow Hills, to walk up to compleat the Furths.
Best on black.
Today’s entry on the Abstract Fiesta journal is Bark again.
