Starting off on an even keel
Friday night was...
spectacular, to say we had a few drinks is an understatment, going by government standars, Scott and I drank our monthly allocation in one fine day.
Off we set to Inverness for a weekend of music festivities and we set off in style. We made our last and final preperations on Thursday night with a bit of karaoke in Irvine. Friday's morning came rarther abrupt with a bag to pack and remeber all the shit like tickets, with a hangover it's not easy, there's always that feeling of forgetting something.
Met scott in town grabbed a couple rolls and slice and headed off for the train, after a quick visit to Asda, 12 bottles of beer late later we were almost in Inverness, damn! one bottle short of a perfect journey.
It's grim up north never seemed more apt as we stepped out the station in a drizzle, we were pointed in the direction of our hotel by a fine lass on the train (who also recommended the best pub ever!)
into morrisons for another case of beer and a 20 minute walk to the hotel in what was now a downpour, Creedence Clearwater sang Have You Ever Seen The Rain, I can confrim I have! To be honest I didn't pack the best pair of shoes for the weekend, canvas shoes are great for nothing more than image, even Jack Kerouac cursed them for walking the highways of America.
So we get the hotel, get dry clothes on, have a quick beer and head off into town wia a taxi. we found Smith & Jones (thanks again to the girl on the train for recommending it) and a £1.50 a half who can complain, it was almost an argument about who was buying the next round, in the end we decided to agree that leaving on an odd number was wrong and then our contious gave in as we thought about coming all this way and not seeing the sights. I do wish I'd got a photo of the two barmaids, their height defference was amazing.
So we left this cheap pub and found another selling large vodka for a couple of quid, still not worked out how it cost nealry 6 quid, I asked for two large vodkas, and by the taste of it it was a double double, I'm not good with vodka anyway, but fuck it, its bought and paid for, might as well shout abuse at the bouncers. Time to leave.
A variety of pubs follwed, jukebox, karaoke, guy with a guitar playing pink floyd, going up, 3rd floor, doors closing no doors big glasses fun laughter hot bath and rod stewart. WHAT!
