Death in the woods

A breezy day today, though at least dry. I was asked over to a friend's garden to chat over various ideas and try to give some advice. I was quite surprised to find that she'd taken the bull by the horns and got rid of quite a few of the shrubs we'd discussed earlier, trying to simplify the planting and opening up vistas through the garden. Getting rid of invasive bamboo could be a long and difficult task though!

Before she drove me home we visited the nearby woods at Sutherland's Grove where two dead trees were covered in these small fungi. Quite a sight!
