It’s happening!

We’ve been concerned that the pool liner, the man who installs it and the good weather wouldn’t all happen at the same time. There seems to be such a small window of good weather between rainy days and surely it couldn’t all come together? But it did!
Today was 27 degrees, Monsieur Piscine arrived in his wellies, but soon stripped off to his swimming trunks (not sure why, there wasn’t any water in the pool) and he and his trusty assistant cleaned the base, installed the felt and put the liner in.
Mr F had gone off to the Hôtel de Ville in Saintes for his English conversation class, leaving me to converse in French with Monsieur Piscine! I think he understood me.
At present, the pool is filling with water while two suction machines are sucking air from between the felt and the liner. Apparently if we have a power cut we need to stop the water or disaster will happen. Also Mr F (not me) will have to check the water levels during the night as holes still need to be cut for the light, skimmers etc so we don’t want it to get too deep.
Monsieur Piscine will return at 9am.
