Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial

is one of the biggest cemeteries in the world the only one in The Netherlands. No less than 8,301 American liberators have been buried here. The white marble crosses and David’s stars remind us of the solders -often young- who gave their lives for our freedom during World War ll.

Today was all about the grave that has been adopted by both our schools. We received an explanation about the teaching program that we can use, an explanation about the course of the war and about the development of the cemetery. We then visited a number of graves after which we finally held a short memorial ceremony at the grave of Mortimer Huntsberger.
