Steamboat essentials
One of our family traditions is eating something special in the weekends, if we're all together. Nowadays that doesn't happen so often, with the four of us spread over 3 countries. But when we're in Holland with the eldest son, or now in Scotland with the youngest we will try to still do that. After our years in Asia 'steamboat' or Chinese fondue, boiling choice pieces of meat and fish in a huge soup bowl on the table and eating them with sauces and rice is one of the favourites.
As we went over to Scotland on the ferry with our own car we could bring our own steamboat pan. So this afternoon we went shopping for the choice of meats and seafood and suddenly I realised we didn't bring the original strainers, used to scoop up the meat and seafood from the boiling soup. No problem though as we were in a huge Tesco complete with all kind of household stuff, I just bought us 3 'normal' food strainers.
