Under My Skin
A plant with too little water sheds its leaves to survive.
Snakes, lizards, turtles, and tortoises shed their skins to stay healthy.
We are not too different. We replace most of the cells in our bodies (every 7-10 years on average).
We keep the brain cells we still have left, though. So there are no excuses — while many of our cells may have changed multiple times over our lifetimes, it’s still you in the driver’s seat.
Monday’s man-cold proved to be something more than that, so now we are isolating and I am thinking about random things like this.
