Mr Tui

It's that time of the year that these flowers (extras) come out and the tuis go nuts for the nectar.  I'm still not sure what the plants are but a quick google search suggests some sort of honey-flower (Melianthus major) - no wonder the tuis love it!

It rained on and off all morning.......that wasn't in the forecast!  I didn't even pack a rain coat so was van bound until the sun came out early afternoon.  Time then to go stalking the tuis.........mixed results but they are fascinating to watch.  

More glorious quiet this evening though no godwits.
