Walking on the Via Verde path

Today has been a dull day but still very mild. After Churros and hot chocolate for breakfast with our friends Jack and I went for a walk on the Via Verde path which was an old railway line. We wanted to see the salt lagoon which we used to come to in spring when the flamingoes were visiting.

As you can see, beyond the olive trees there is not a drop of water to be seen where once there was a great lake teaming with birds of all sorts at different seasons. Very sad.

But I did.spot two species of what looked more like spring flowers than autumn ones. See extra.

We return home tomorrow knowing that our little house is looking lovely and being cared for. Out later for one more meal and a birthday drink with friends. See you back in UK..oh and we haven't missed a minute of the Downing Street chaos!
