Handcraft
A new colleague arrived in Gaza so we met up with him for lunch and then went for a stroll around the city.
We went to a place which is hidden behind walls, a little enclave of five or six small buildings with a courtyard of palm trees and flowerpots in the middle. In each of the buildings, a variety of local handcrafts are on sale.
The only one open this day sold handwoven rugs, blankets, and pillows in beautiful colours. We were lucky enough to see the master at work.
