" 'scuse me - Is this the way to Sayers Common? "

I took my mother to a car-boot sale at Sayers Common then afterwards we went into the local pub for lunch. Ten minutes after we arrived, a couple of steam traction engines arrived, followed by more and more and more!

It turned out that the Sussex Steam Engine Club was celebrating 20 years of existence with a rally/road-run. There was no publicity as it was a private celebration but for those who happened to be in the right place at the right time, it was a pleasant surprise.
(But for those trying to drive along the local roads, it was a nightmare)
