Epiphytes

Epiphytes abound in New Zealand/Aotearoa rain forest. Higher up the Ponga trunk the remnants of where fronds were can be seen. These areas offer good places for epiphytes to start from, and they grow there without harming the Ponga. This particular Ponga was tall, straight and very healthy, as were the epiphytes.
