Derelict Arches
I'm staying with my sister and BiL this weekend and today we took a trip to Brighton, which BiL had never visited before. We parked on the Madeira Drive, which is renowned for its 865m long stretch of Victorian cast iron arches and walkways. Today however they are looking very sorry for themselves and have been fenced off by the local council since 2014 and effectively left to rot away. There are plans to restore them, though one wonders whether the money and permissions can be done in time to save them at an estimated £25m.
We also walked along the seafront to view the derelict West Pier, which looks even more derelict from my last visit in 2015.
