Vampires & Virgins

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

With Caro away, I typically watch old 70's British horror movies. It's a comfort thing.

But this year, I decided to invite Jefe, Manda and Mo in on the action. I cooked a big roast, got in lots of red wine, picked up some crappy decorations from the two dollar shop and sat the group down to watch "The Beast Must Die!"

The enjoyed the general cheesiness of the thing, but then we took a left turn into comedy when Jefe realised I had one of his old favourite films, "Love At First Bite" in my collection.

So it was a fun evening. Jefe drank quite a lot of wine and was not really in any condition to ride home on his motorbike, so Jefe and Manda ended up staying the night.

I left them in front of the telly at 1am watching, "The Last of Sheila". Apparently they didn't make it to the end and woke up halfway through another movie.

If I don't sound too enthusiastic, it is because it is now the next day and I am somewhat tired*. Nevertheless this evening did mean a lot to me. I've been watching these films on my own for a long time.

It was special to me to create a whole new horror family, here in Paraparaumu.

But now. Must nap.
