A fun evening

A get together of neighbours (good friends) with a theme of eating food that was free, locally produced and home grown.

And what a spread with pheasant, venison and beef, apples, greens from the garden and locally grown vegetables delivered in the veg box. We also had to wear something old or given etc, great fun, each had a story with John found clothes his mum made 40/50 years ago, his coup de grace was a dig for victory badge, estimated to be eighty years old.

My main is A in a T shirt given to him by his family last year, he had a people carrier which was helpful to ferry visitors to and from hospital last year during a very sad time for them all.

I made a chocolate cake, nothing local or frugal about it, but, my lovely friend and neighbour suggested it could be considered old. I had a birthday yesterday and the cake was for a group of ‘old’ people, or words to that effect. As I said a fun evening. None of us feel old therefore can’t be.

Just added an extra, John, never shy, is showing off a jacket his mum made for him 46/47 years ago, in fact it was part of a suit, also a waistcoat she made and a 1977 Tour of Mull Rally T shirt he bought on our first visit to Mull. His jeans are 53 plus years old, again his mum modernised them by adding inserts into the legs to add flair and later she added patches on patches. A job I continued for a few years.
