Fascinating FB
Fasicularia bicolour is a rosette-forming, terrestrial bromeliad with slender, spiny-toothed, rigid, mid to dark-green, evergreen leaves up to 50cm long.
In summer each mature rosette produces a dense central cluster of pale sky-blue flowers surrounded by ivory-white bracts, and also when the innermost leaves of the rosette turn scarlet red.
Originating from Chile, this exotic looking plant forms attractive rosettes of spiny, tough foliage. The leaves are green on the surface and pale brown beneath, the innermost leaves are usually brightly coloured as plant prepare to flower.
Mature plants produce flowers from the centre of the rosette in summer.
