Morning pancakes
We were awoken by an incredible lightening and thunder show!
I had noticed a flash of light but didn’t know what it was and it was so dark that I thought it was much earlier than it was.
An almighty heavy burst of rain clattered on the Velux window sounding like it would in a caravan. This was followed by more lightening and thunder.
I became aware the children were up so went downstairs to find it was nearly 8.00am but still dark.
As is usual at the weekend daddy was making pancakes and both girls were helping, seen here helping with weighing and mixing. The results were delicious, either with banana or without. Jude is just getting a spoon full of Granny’s blackberry jam with hers.
Grace was having a well deserved lie in but was taken some in bed.
The forecast suggested rain would last all day but by 10.00am the sun was out and the girls were playing outside.
We left after Jude went for her nap after lunch and have driven home without seeing any rain at all. So pleased as I hate motorways in heavy rain. Made it in 4 hours and 20 mins which is pretty good with a brief pit stop. Lots of hold ups on the southbound side.
We’ve had such a lovely week, can’t wait till next time.
