Up early for as much breakfast as we could eat and checked out of our hotel by 8 o’clock.

Since it wasn’t raining (as forecast, again) we decided to walk back along the river as far as Châtelet. A couple of wrong turns where the map wasn’t quite up to date with construction work, but it was a very nice walk and was eventually quite sunny.

Travelling was slightly stressful, first attempting to get multiple metros on closed lines, then our Eurostar being delayed by over an hour. We met Keith and Naomi at St Pancras when we got back, and went for some food (crazy French toast, keeping the French holiday alive), then another mad dash to Paddington to get my train home.

Bumped into Bill, Maddy and Beano in the park on the way home. The evening consisted of unpacking, then lots of hugs, a delicious pizza, and macaron tasting for dessert.
