Sunday OD

Today I was Sailing Officer of the Day with the power to permit racing or cancel it! Theoretically anyway.
The first hurdle was to find a driver for the rescue boat, the next was that there was no wind. So within minutes of being in the heady position of being in charge it looked like there would be nothing to be in charge of!
However, with a little re-arrangement of roles and a ripple blowing up from the South off we went.
The course was set and as the blue peter came down and the hooter sounded the hardy October helms and crews set off around a course spanning the central part of the lake. Over the next couple of hours the conditions fluctuated from a flat calm to a very lively breeze. Here's a GP with its spinaker pulling well surging into a leading position.
It may have been a grey and sporadically wet day, but that didn't make it any less interesting.
