Wind Power
This morning we finally have our Covid boosters- Wales seems to be lagging behind this time, but suddenly the penny seems to have dropped, and things are moving forward. The wait is minimal, and as usual, our jabs are administered with good humour and efficiency.
It’s a day of unremitting grey, and though we’d planned a reasonable walk after our injections, both the weather and the orders to ‘take things easy’ lead us to limit this to a stroll along Llandudno prom.
Inspiration is in short supply, and I’m grateful for the race the local sailing club is running in the bay. All but one of the boats (dinghies? - I know next to nothing about sailing) have white sails, blending into an almost monochromatic scene with grey sea and skies. One, however, stands out boldly with its near-fluorescent day-glow yellow sails, its billowing spinnaker adding a welcome flash of colour to the gloomy scene backed by the omnipresent wind turbines.
Back home, we dutiful follow the instructions to just rest - and so far there are no reactions but for the inevitable sore arm.
Like most fellow blippers, the news that Boris has decided not to stand comes as a great relief - though I certainly don’t buy his message that he’s pulled out for anything other than purely selfish reasons.
