In Praise of Duality.

The concept of duality lies at the heart of Scottish literature, but it is to be found everywhere one looks.

Yesterday with my bin bag and litter-picker in hand, I had cause to curse the gorse on the shoreline, where endless scraps of paper and plastic, nylon rope and crumpled beer can, were hopelessly impaled or half hidden. It seemed charmless, a nuisance.

Today, on an otherwise grey morning, how glorious it actually is!
