Life in a Northern Town

Quiet

I expected the Piece Hall to be busier during half term week.

Things are not going well in Plymouth, my mother is not settling in the care home and has taken to ringing me repeatedly, sometimes in the middle of the night, begging to go home. It’s very distressing for her, for me and for my stepdad, who feels he is being pressured by the social worker to have her at home, when he’s really too frail himself to take proper care of her, especially at night, when she gets very agitated. His own children are now frantic with worry about him and we seem to be in no better a place than we were when she was in hospital.
