Wide Open Spaces

Well, we drew up a list of potential activities for Rory today and would you believe it they were all closed on Mondays. The National Trust came to the rescue - we visited Croome, the first time since the blipmeet in February. I thought there would be a good mix of technology, history and nature, and mrsfb hadn't come to the blipmeet so it was a first time for her. There was also a play area which the ticket guy very helpfully pointed out to Rory on the way in. He also said to me 'you've been before haven't you'. I'm not usually that memorable.

The car park was heaving but it wasn't too busy inside. Rory enjoyed the play area and the wide open spaces. I got a shot of him running off into the distance but decided he was too small so made him come back up the hill for a closer shot with the Malverns in the background.

We had a look around the house this time which we didn't do on the blipmeet. It was quite strange really. Lots of things in boxes (first extra) which made me think about the closing scene in Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and (second extra) Surf, Sweat and Tears: The Life of Ted Deerhurst - A contemporary exhibition celebrating the life of Edward "Ted" Deerhurst; an aristocrat, viscount and professional surfer.
And a huge model of the house in the basement which some younger children had taken apart and were trying to put back together again. Rory tried to help but it was a losing battle.

It was standard fare in the cafe, a pasty for lunch and then tea and cake in the  afternoon before we set off for home. The satnav went a bit haywire on the way home and took us through Pershore, which looked like an interesting place for a future visit.

And Rory has made an interesting observation re my blip yesterday - nobody is commenting on your photo, they are all just talking about me!! (not quite true, thanks to a later comment from Stiffknees!)
