Stamp of approval

I had a rare need to post a letter today.

It was only as I was strolling down the avenue that I realised that I had used the last stamp I owned, and this would probably be the last time I would be using the queen’s image to send mail across the country. Not a big deal, I grant you, rather just one of those moments.

My last day of work before 9 consecutive days of no work has been rather marvellous, culminating in an overdue drink with Rusty-plums (complete with his lad) and a guest appearance from LadyV for the final couple. Russ was forthright in joining the list of people who see the two of us together and feel compelled to tell me what I already know: I’m punching above my weight.

It was the perfect end to the working week and a great way to lead into my holiday.
