Bugs Suck ...
... and beetles chew.
I shot this Mirid bug on the flower buds of Paddy's Pride Ivy. It blooms later than wild ivy and has large leaves with yellowy-white middles. For this reason it is also known as Sulphur Heart. Another name is Persian Ivy as it originated in the Near and Middle East.
The piercing and sucking mouthparts of the bug can be seen. Like many Mirids it has a heart shape on its back.
