She Runs

The title makes it sound as if I refer to myself in the third person, but the title could be for any one of the 2,000 runners today in the 'She Runs Windsor 10k'. Women of all shapes and sizes and levels of fitness took part, with walkers as welcome as runners. Apparently 27% of the field were running or walking in their first event!

It was a nicely organised event and some groups made it into a family day out.

For those of you who care about running times I can confirm my finish in 58:07 which is pretty good considering that the tiniest of hills just knock the stuffing out of me. I followed the 60 minute pacemaker for the first 2k and thought it was tough, especially as the pacemaker made it all look very easy and called out encouragement. I couldn't really speak :-)
