Beautiful day in The Bay

We stayed in the Premier Inn last night and after breakfast we packed our cases into the car and went hunting for bikes. Today was forecast to be sunny and warm for the time of year so we chose it for visiting Penarth. We'd cycled to part of it before but didn't realise that there was a pier so didn't explore it much. 
The weather really was stunning and The Bay had a great vibe with lots of cyclists, joggers, walkers and people watching the speed boat competitions. We enjoyed part of the boat racing and couldn't believe the speeds that the boats were racing at when they were pulling water skiers too. 
We cycled/pushed the bikes up the hills into Penarth (it's so hilly!!) and enjoyed a walk on the pier and a cake and a cuppa.  It was so lovely just to relax and enjoy the sunshine. 
Afterwards, after a bit of shopping in The Bay, we headed towards Pontypridd to meet Kieran and his friend Sioned and we took them for a nice meal. Kieran then allowed us to see his new student house which was surprisingly ok. I was pleased as he wouldn't let us see it last year and Matt's was horrible!
I love The Bay and I'm looking forward to our next visit.
