A present for a friend

Boo is attending a birthday party today.

So of course she's frantically trying to make something - I need to get more organised!

They woke this morning with a desperate desire to felt. They spoke to dad, got out wool and needles and foam and got on with it.

Boo came to me with a 'girl' she'd been doing. She'd done a great job but needed to add more wool as she was a little flimsy - this was the point where she reminded me it was her friends birthday and announced she was going to give her the felted girl. We talked a little and she realised that the girl on her own wasn't really what she wanted to give. She came up with the idea of putting her on a mini pillow. So that's what she did. She felted her on to the front piece of fabric and then sewed the two together before filling it with stuffing and sewing up the gap.

Excellent, her idea, her execution. She can plan, design, felt and sew her own little creations. Not bad for 7 I think.
