Busy day

Our usual Monday with Luca, today, was good. Ruth, Josh and the boys had been away all weekend in London. So Luca was quite happy to have a catch-up day with us, taking it easy, playing with his favourite toys.

Today's blip, then is a rather hasty shot of the poplar trees on the edge of the park, across the road. There's a moment in the autumn when the remaining leaves make delicate patterns against the dark branches. Recent rain and wind have thinned them out a lot.

Ruth is still not feeling herself, and on top of that, she's caught a bad cold. Josh had left early to go on a residential training course in Northumberland, part of his routine training for the job.  But at her request, he came home in the evening, cutting short the coursework.
Before that,  I took Luca back in the late afternoon, taking with me a tasty pasta sauce made by Richard. Ruth and I had tea with the boys; after that, they watched TV for a bit and we took advantage of a rare chance to talk together.
Now that Josh is back, with luck a day or two's rest will help her to recharge her batteries.
