Peacock Fountain
The Peacock Fountain, unveiled in 1911, stands in a prominant place in Christchurch Botanic Gardens. It features not peacocks but herons, dolphins, lily leaves and foliage, having been named after a politician called John Peacock. He bequeathed money to be used for the beautification of gardens in Christchurch.
