Bank Holiday baking.
Well I can safely say it's not been BBQ weather today! Think it's rained all day, sometimes heavier than others but always wet. It's a good job we're made of hardy stuff round here, lol!
A fairly low key Bank Holiday in our house with Mr Cakes having an office day; the joys of self employment! We had a brief but soggy walk with the dogs so at least some fresh air has been had. Myself and the boys took my mum out for lunch to show off our new village tearoom; she was impressed so that's another customer secured!
Today's bake was yet more cinnamon rolls; I swear they disappear faster every time I make them.
Recipe!
185ml warm water, 1 large egg, 4 tbsp butter, 450g bread flour, 3 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt & 2 tsp yeast.
I put this all in the bread maker on the dough setting which takes 1& 1/2 hours.
Then roll the dough out to about 15" by 10" and then spread 3 tbsp melted butter, 70g sugar and 2tsp ground cinnamon over the dough. Roll up tightly along long side. Cut the roll into about 1" pieces. Place on greased tray, cover and allow to rise till doubled, this takes 30-40 mins. Bake in preheated oven at 180 for 20 -25 mins. I drizzle them with hot water icing while they are still warm.
