The Palm House

The Palm House in the RBGE was built in the 1850’s and is in need of some TLC to the extent that it will be closed for several years as all the glass is removed cleaned, along with the supporting iron work. All the plants were removed last year and the area sealed off from the public as is not only the Victorian Plany houses being refurbished but also the 1960’s new plant houses will be getting the same treatment.
There will also be a new build, The Biomes Project in the area to house the RGBE’s bio-divesity work.
Not sure when I’ll be able to access this part of the Gardens again as it requires access across the main supply road to the works.
