Feeling Agreeable Towards Culinary Graffiti
Today we were supposed to meet up with my mate Big H and a couple of his friends at the delightfully named Dead Pigeon, a gastropub and sports bar, in Rochester Old High Street for a bit of a drinking sesh with added bratwurst (they were celebrating Oktoberfest - there was even a bratwurst eating competition - and no I wasn't intending to take part!) but when we arrived it was standing room only so we ended up going on a very localised pub crawl instead.
Our next venue was to be the 12 degrees micro pub a few doors along but a notice on the door said it didn't open until the rather odd time of 4.30 - we weren't having much luck! We finally managed to start our imbibing at The Ship Inn just across the street. After a pint in there we then headed on to the wonderfully atmospheric Nag's Head another few doors down, to increase our beverage intake further, before ending up at the now finally opened 12 degrees where we called it a day after my brother couldn't finish his half pint of rhubarb cider - he said it was the sweetest drink he had ever tasted, like liquidised alcoholic boiled sweets! It was so great to have a few drinks, plenty of chat and a good laugh.
Today's image was taken on the same street as our pub crawl and caught my eye as I have never seen culinary graffiti before - in this particular instance it's dedicated to Pate En Croute (?!). I also love the fact that the word nice has been spray painted underneath!
